Rain and returnsThe rain taps gently on her windows. Through it, she hears soft, familiar footfalls -Rain and returns
fingers brushing her cheek, a hushed whisper; "I'm sorry, I've been gone."
That voice full of care, full of promise. "You've been strong, but you're so broken." Oh, so broken. I cry. I feel broken. "Hush, sweetling. The sky has been crying for you all day."
He pulls me up in to an embrace, soft wings folding gently around me. A sweet warmth spreads through my cold body -
the words I've been longing for;
"Don't worry, little one. Everything will be alright."

seen her confident stride, lined in silver with doubt if you could have touched her dreams and felt her wishes

world peace and castles and ancient forests where trees whispered and willows wept with joy where the floor would be littered with fantastic tales and heroes and happily-ever-afters
and then she awoke and found herself in a harsher, yet terrifyingly beautiful place where people frown and dreams collapse and happiness is a blessing and laughter like music and the inevitable end tucked neatly away
but now, now the seams are fraying she's running out of laughter and must return to stardust and big, lonely castles and emp
